Surprise Surprise!!

So this past weekend Jimmy and I got our bags packed, goodies baked and headed up north to Antioch CA. I was so excited to get to my family!! It seemed like it took FOREVER to get there. We had a few setbacks on the way since we wernt paying attention and got on the wrong freeway but 6 hours later we made it. Jimmy & I arrived and got some lovin from my family, and I went straight to the restroom- I pushed open the door and saw someone standing in the dark. Figuring it was a cousin or something I looked harder and was like huh?? Flicked on the light real fast and it was my MOM!!! I screamed and cried and was just in utter shock that my mom was standing in the bathroom. My cousin hooked my mom up with a ticket last minute with his frequent flyer miles- she only had a few hours to pack and get on a flight! It was such a great weekend. We ate lots, and just enjoyed being with family!! I am so thankful I got to see my mom, It was a much needed visit!! :)

This week has gone by pretty fast. One of my closest friends-Sarah, got married today. I am sad I had to miss the wedding, my mom and sisters went and I have already gotten the call letting me know how beautiful she looked!! It is so much harder than I thought being in California. Of course I wouldnt trade being with Jimmy for ANYTHING but it has been hard missing all the family gatherings, Sammy's cheer competiton and all the millions of other things that goes on when your whole family lives in the same town! I know that being a military wife is only for the strong and I am so glad God has been making me strong. I love my husband so much & I know I am blessed!!

So It is almost time for some turkey!! We will be eating some this time next weekend with our Cali Parkers & boy are we ready!! I went shopping today and got a few things to make the house look like Christmas!! I got some throw pillows, candles, snowmen salt n peper shakers, decorative kitchen towels and a new centerpiece for the kitchen table!! I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!! I think we are skipping the tree(not enough room for one) so my decorating is gonna have to do till next year!! Next year we will have a tree no matter what!! :)

It's Monday already?

I can't believe how fast the last few days went by.

Jimmy & I had a very mellow weekend. We had dinner with some friends- I had scallops and shrimp, which was yummy but not Hollands Shelter shrimp ;)

We were planning on going to Universal Studios saturday but Jimbo hurt his foot, I believe he pulled something(surfing), he is probably going to medical today to get it checked out. So we hung out at the house all day and went to a movie! Sunday I worked the morning shift and after we went to this little restaurant called "Bakers Square" we both had a great meal and we each had homemade pie- of course Jimmy had pecan and I had this carmel chocolate peacan silk thing and It was soooo good!!

We are getting so excited for Thanksgiving!! We are going to my cousins house in Antioch CA, about 5-6 hours away for the weekend for some turkey and all the dressings!! I think Ill have to make some sweet tea for my Cali Parkers!! I am also going to try and make a few of my family favorites to take!! Well nothing too exicted but thought Id update ya'll!! I am missing North Carolina & Love you all!! xo

Hey everyone. So I made a blog user name only to comment on my sister-in-law's blog, I am in love with being able to see what is going on in her life since we are so far apart from each other. She told me I should start one. I didn't think I would be able to keep up with anything else since I have Facebook & myspace! But after watching boring TV & cleaning all morning I decided to try it out!

So far the last few months since Jimmy & I got married have been a blur! We drove cross country in 3 days, and started our life as a married couple. California is beautiful. I love the weather here, cool in the early morning, warm all day and cool at night. No need for AC at all, just a fan is good at night! I have gotten a job at a Privately owned waterfront restaurant in the Harbor and so far I am enjoying it. I also have been doing a little bit of hair out of the house! I have made friends with a few coastie wives and love them. Jimmy and I spend all of our time off together and I love it! I am like an excited puppy waiting a wagging my tail when he gets home from work! So far we have had some experiences, like me getting a fish bone lodged in my throat- 3 hours in the ER and I made it out OK. I found a chicken bone in my mexican food and we ran into a "Tree of bees" on our last hike. But I am loving being his little wife and enjoying each and every minute of it!



I am missing home, and cannot wait to visit. I am sure my sisters are growing like weeds! Jimmy & I are going to help fly Sammy & Brooke here on there spring break, we are super excited about that! My cousin Rachael visited in Early October and we had a good time shopping and eating the entire time she was here!! Hopefully Jon & Amber will visit after Christmas so the boys can surf. Ill show Amber all the hot shopping spots! Well I guess this is enough for now...maybe my mom & a few other family members will enjoy this! xo
